MPE/MeCCSA Practice Network Symposium Ignition Session

Join us for our ignition session for the 2021 online edition of the MPE/MeCCSA Practice Network Symposium. We will be talking you through the programme for the week and there will be an opportunity for a Q&A about how to get involved with the interactive sessions.
We will also be welcoming our partners from Stornaway.io, Ru Howe and Kate Dimbleby who will be launching our INTERACTIVE VIDEO ESSAY CHALLENGE. Following the launch of the challenge Ru & Kate will demo their platform for creative playable video’s and answering all of your questions.
WHAT IS STORNAWAY
Stornaway.io is an easy-to-use interactive storytelling platform that enables you to quickly and easily map out interactive story experiences. You can plan out interactive stories using story islands, link them, add images, video and text and quickly play test the results. There are plenty of examples, guides and video explainers on their website and you can sign up for a free trial for FREE!
INTERACTIVE VIDEO ESSAY CHALLENGE
We are throwing out a challenge to see if you can answer the question:
- What would an interactive video essay be like?
- We want to know how video essayists’ could engage with an audience through multiple points of view or by using alternative perspectives.
- We want to know if there is a way of investigating media texts through interactive, playable, video essays.
Importantly the challenge is intended to be a bit of fun, not something to take too seriously. We encourage you to make something short, use what you have available, use your phones, whatever is to hand. Just play!
We are giving everyone who wants to take part just seven days to create a playable video essay and publish it. Just send us the link to admin@practice21.net and we will add your video to the symposium website.

In addition, anyone who participates and publishes a video will get a free license to use with their students for the next academic year plus the winner gets a free workshop/ignition session for their university with Stornaway.io creators Kate & Ru?
